There are many students who are not quite sure which pathway they want to take when leaving school and it’s opportunities like those offered through EQIP that allow students to explore the various options available to them. This ensures that students stay engaged in schooling as they are offered alternative education opportunities that compliment their school experience and curriculum.

Eligibility:
Students entering Year 10, 11 or 12 at Gladstone, Toolooa or Tannum Sands State High Schools.
Duration:
One day per week. 1 year per certificate.
Location:
Boyne Smelters, Boyne Island.
Suitability:
Students interested in a career in Business, Tourism, services sector or university.
Students who also interested in learning foundation Industry, teamwork and communication skills/knowledge.
Eligibility:
Students entering Year 11 Gladstone, Toolooa or Tannum Sands State High Schools.
Duration:
One day per week. 2 year program. (rotating fortnightly between the program and work experience)
Location:
NRG Power Station
Suitability:
Students interested pursuing an career in the Engineering Trade within business or industry .
Students wanting to gain authentic industry skills and experience to secure an apprenticeship.
Eligibility:
Students entering Year 11 or 12 at Gladstone, Toolooa or Tannum Sands State High Schools.
Duration:
One day per week. 1 year (+ optional second-year for students entering year 12)
Location:
CQUniversity Marina Campus (and practical days at QAL , Gladstone).
Suitability:
Students interested in investigating a career in LNG and/or Process Operations.
Students who are interested in a trade or industry pathway but unsure on specific direction.
Eligibility:
Students entering Year 11 (students will enrol with Gladstone State High School)
Duration:
5 days per week. 2 year program.
Including up to 30 days per year each of work experience and Vocational Training.
Location:
Gladstone Technical College (on site at Gladstone State High School)
Suitability:
Students interested in gaining foundation skills to achieve a traineeship, apprenticeship or full-time
employment within local business.
Students interested in exiting mainstream schooling and completing essential core subjects in order to gain their QCE. Students also complete a vocational certificate aligned to their career pathway and work experience within small to medium local business.
Eligibility:
Students entering Year 10 at Gladstone, Toolooa, Tannum, Mount Larcom or Miriam Vale State High Schools.
Duration:
One day per week, all year.
Location:
McCosker Contracting, Gladstone.
Suitability:
Students interested in gaining authentic industry skills to pursue a career in civil construction, engineering or a trade. Also a doorway into EQIP senior programs.
Eligibility:
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students entering Year 10 at Gladstone, Toolooa or Tannum Sands State High Schools.
Duration:
Up to 1 day per week through Term 3 and 4.
Location:
Varied.
Suitability:
Students interested in exploring potential career pathways and opportunities within the Gladstone Region
Eligibility:
Students entering Year 11 Gladstone, Toolooa or Tannum Sands State High Schools.
Duration:
1 day per week for approx. 6 months.

Students interested in pursuing a career in the Health or support services sector.
