WORK EXPERIENCE

Work experience provides valuable opportunities for students to learn about specific occupations, explore career pathways and gain skill and experience in different jobs and sectors.

Through work experience employers can talk to students about the industry, its career paths and future directions. Employers can also potentially identify future employees.

EQIP has seen strong participation from schools, host employers and students with EQIP organising a total of 1,032 work experience placements in 2018.  Through work experience, 812 year 9-12 (over 14) students learned about occupations and industry, observed people at work and the work they do, and developed skills and knowledge to help them make informed career choices. 240 host employers contributed to the education and career development of our next generation workforce.

Students—There are over 85 vocations across a range of industry sectors in the Gladstone region for you to experience. This is your opportunity to find out what you want to do when you transition from school to employment or further study.
