Unique to the Authentic Workplace Learning programs is the work-ready skills and experience that students gain onsite at local business and industry. Education Queensland Teachers or RTO Trainers deliver Nationally recognised certificate qualifications. Industry partners provide the authentic workplace learning environment. EQIP oversees student recruitment, operational processes, financial management, and marketing and promotions.
Delivered in partnership with Tannum Sands State High School, Toolooa State High School, Gladstone State High School and local industry.
Applications for the 2019 intake will be open in July 2018.

EQIP Business, Industry and Tourism Skills Centre
(for Year 10, 11 and 12 students)

Students participate in community and enterprise projects and develop skills in a professional business environment onsite at Boyne Smelters Limited.
EQIP Engineering Skills Centre

Located on-site at NRG Gladstone Power Station, this award winning program offers an industrial ‘real work’ environment.
EQIP Doorways to Civil Construction
(for Year 10 students)

Students gain authentic workplace experience onsite at McCosker Contracting. Students complete a certificate qualification and project work, while gaining practical baseline skills and experience in the field.
EQIP Technical College
(for Year 11 students)
Pathways: Hospitality, Business, Civil Construction, Building Construction, Automotive Mechanical
Students complete school curriculum onsite at the Technical College and 30 days structured work experience with a host employer in the chosen career pathway.
EQIP Process Plant Operations

Students complete PMA20116 Certificate II in Process Plant Operations with CQUniversity RTO 40939 (www.cqu.edu.au). EQIP arranges authentic workplace learning onsite at Queensland Alumina Limited.

EQIP Career Development Program
(for new students commencing an EQIP program in 2019)
The EQIP Career Development Program (CDP) is designed for EQIP students to help them understand and develop behavioural employability skills through interactive workshops and structured workplace learning. Students learn about the importance of behavioural skills, recruitment from an employer’s perspective, employment rights, and how to build personal brand through effective demonstration of qualities and values. To goal is to better prepare students for recruitment and selection, future employers and the workforce in general.
The EQIP CDP is on the Department of Education and Training’s ‘Register of employment skills development programs’.
