Authentic Workplace Learning
Students commit 1 day per week to the program on a Wednesday throughout school term. Students are provided the opportunity to gain practical skills and experience in an authentic workplace environment onsite at Queensland Alumina Limited. The goal is to develop employability skills and raise awareness of the potential career pathways in the resources sector.
Employment pathways may include roles as a process plant operator, chemical plant operator, trainee process technician or process technician. Students who have completed this program have transitioned to other pathways such as electrical or mechanical trades.
EQIP delivers career development training to help students understand the importance of personal brand, to identify and develop behavioural skills that are transferrable across all jobs and industries, and get prepared for recruitment & selection processes.
The EPMA program is proudly sponsored by ConocoPhillips Australia Pacific LNG and Shell QGC.
